Visiting Coxen Hole, Roatan by cruise ship.

My mom and I are on day four of our cruise to the Western Caribbean on board the Norwegian EPIC. They weren’t kidding, as the third largest cruise ship in the industry, it is, without a doubt, epic. I apologize for not being able to share the pictures I have taken of this beast, but the internet connection times out before I’m able to successfully upload.

Here is this photo from Google, just to give you an idea:

We spent today on the island of Roatan, Honduras. There is something undeniably charming about the port (Norwegian ports in Coxen Hole). There was nothing special about the cruise terminal and the city is obviously still very poor, however I would strongly recommend taking a walk into town and exploring it’s unique character. If we hadn’t spent our day in Gumbalimba park and on the Jolly Roger catamaran, I would’ve been happy to explore Coxen Hole.

There is so much more to share about this trip, but it will have to wait until I’m home and time is less expensive. I hope everyone is having a great winter… I still have so much Christmas shopping to do when I return home. It will definitely be hard to come back to Seattle after enjoying so much sunshine here in the Caribbean.

Isla Roatan was one of our favorite stops! We ported in Mahogany Bay and then headed straight to Gumbalimba Park to snuba and LOVED it. We did have to ride through town to get there and it was a bit of a sad drive. Glad you're enjoying yourself!
